Welcome to Black Kettles Collective

The Collective brings us (the founders) together to collaborate on projects, display our independent works, and foster conversations through our blog about design happenings in our local scenes and travels. Having all grown up in central Florida, we are now based in Boston, Philadelphia, and Toronto. We open up our blog to special guests to keep things fresh.

Formally trained as a front-end web producer,
I tired of only creating intangible things on the internet. Thus was born my love for making things that I (and others) can hold in our hands and enjoy. I design and hand-craft patterned pieces for home or office with a focus on simplicity, drawing inspiration from the history that surrounds me, nature and whit. In my spare time I enjoy doing just about anything outside including gardening, backpacking, day trips, antique shops, bicycles, and naps on the beach.

I am a journalist/crafter soaking in the style and happenings of Philadelphia. I am
inspired by graffiti, walks in old neighborhoods, Polaroids, Victorian wallpaper patterns, architecture, words, the changing seasons of the northeast, irony, a good cup of coffee. Crafting satisfies the curiosity of whether I can realize the things I create in my head.Kind of like a double-dog dare to my everyday brain.

I aspire to travel the world, be fearless, and make objects that inspire others.

You’ll likely find me exploring any genre that falls between writing and art: like design, which seems the perfect amalgamation of visual communication and the written word.

Now designing websites in Toronto, I spent two years living in London, UK and traveling that part of the world, finding inspiration in new experiences. I love all things living, and could I stay in one place for more than a year, I would rescue pets and collect exotic herbs for a backyard conservatory.
