On a sleepy train to NYC this morning, I sure could use a brooch like this to lift my eyelids and spirits. RISD graduate Leeanne Williams (who helps run 55 Norfolk in Cambridge) designed a jewelry line around these tiny bones she found while wandering through the Glorieta Mesa forest in New Mexico. She cast these delicate bones in sterling silver to create the brooch above.
There is always something so special when people create designs directly drawn from their surroundings. It is very natural, grounded, and in this case, a bit unexpected. You can visit the Epic Bones shop to purchase any of these pieces.
